Last week the AGILE 2011 conference took place in Utrecht (The Netherlands). Several members of the 52°North communities were actively involved in the conference by giving presentations or organizing workshops.
Monday was the workshop day of the conference. ESRI and 52°North organized a joint workshop on GI Research and instruction mixing commercial and Open Source Tools. In this workshop Bastian Schäffer gave a presentation on coupling the 52N WPS with ArcGIS and the ESRI REST API; Arne Bröring/Simon Jirka talked about Sensor Web projects that make use of commercial as well as Open Source software. The Integration of Sensor-Web and Web-based Geoprocessing was the focus of a workshop of the SWSL group from IfGI. The Testbed research/PTB workshop was also co-organized by the 52°North Geoprocessing Community.
In addition, there were several innovative presentations held by members of the 52°North Communities:
