The Android client of the enviroCar project helps users collect data about their tracks, including but not limited to, speed, fuel consumption and CO2 production. This data is obtained through an OBD-II adapter that the app connects to via Bluetooth. While there is plenty of data being collected from the adapter, a lot of it wasn’t being visualized. In addition to this, there were a few changes that I felt could be made to the application that would help improve the user experience.

The end of the 2019 GSoC program came to an end quite fast, but on the other hand, it just kicked off the development of the .NET WPS API and ArcGIS Pro Add-In. I’ll introduce you to what has been done so far, what we might expect from future contributors and my personal thoughts on this.

UI / UX Improvements for the enviroCar Project – Mid Term Blog Post
The aim of this project was to improve the user interface of the enviroCar Android client in addition to introducing new functionality to help improve user retention. The user interface is being redesigned to make it more intuitive to use. Additional data that is available in the API is also being used for visualization.
