I am James Ondieki, originally from Nairobi, Kenya. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Geomatic Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in 2019. After working as a geospatial web developer, I realized the need to deepen my analytical skills to extract more insights from large geospatial datasets. This motivation led me to pursue a master’s in Geoinformatics and Spatial Data Science at the Institute for Geoinformatics (IFGI) in Münster, Germany.
Cloud Native OGC SensorThings API: GSoC Final Blog
Introduction
Hello everyone,
It’s been a long while since my last blog post, and indeed so. I am excited to share that my GSoC 2024 project of developing an open, interoperable and cloud native OGC SensorThings API has finally seen the light! It’s been an incredible journey of 20 weeks filled with ups and downs, but as the saying goes, all’s well that ends well.
Continuing from my mid term blog post, I had ‘evaluated’ the libraries, tools and frameworks to use for implementing the end-to-end cloud native persistence layer. However, as I proceeded with using some of these tools, it became apparent that I will have to change gears and look for alternative options. More on it, below.
Cloud Native OGC SensorThings API: GSoC Mid Term Blog
Introduction
Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog series on my GSoC 2024 project – Cloud Native OGC SensorThings API.
I have been working on implementing a new module (sta-dao-cloudnative) into 52° North’s sensorweb-server-sta project. This module will store and retrieve IoT sensor data in a cloud native file format using the OGC SensorThings API (STA) standard. The past 7 weeks have been quite productive as I was able to complete the tasks that I planned for.
Cloud native OGC SensorThings API
Hello all,
I welcome you all to the introductory blog post on my Google Summer of Code‘s project that I will be working on over the next few weeks. Before I begin, a bit of an introduction about me
I am a graduate student at the University of Calgary (Yes, I get to see the Canadian Rockies from my window!). I am pursuing my Master’s degree in Geomatics Engineering and working towards revising and improving the Open Geospatial Consortium’s (OGC) SensorThings API standard for my thesis.
