I completed my external semester at 52°North on October 2, 2015. During this internship, my task was to gain experience in software development by developing a metadata editor for standarized sensor metadata. Please see my initial blog post for more information. I fulfilled this task by implementing an editor based on the smartEditor project and built a prototype which enables the editing of the metadata language SensorML. This prototype is called SmartSensorEditor. Currently, this editor supports several elements of the SensorML description language.more >
OSGeo-Live 9.0 with SOS 4.3.0 and WPS 3.3.1
OSGeo-Live 9.0 has been released! It now provides 64 bit architecture support, has moved to Git and has been moving projects to .deb packaging. For this release, geospatial applications have been updated to their latest stable releases. 52°North’s latest SOS version is now available on OSGeo-Live. more >
Statistics for OGC Web services – Final report
Introduction
The project goal is to collect statistics about how the clients use their SOS (Sensor Observation Service) deployments. The data is collected in an Elasticsearch database. Social Driving Stats – Midterm Blog
Introduction
The goal of the project “Social Driving Stats” is to develop a mechanism for sharing tracks and user details on social media services such as Facebook, Twitter and Google plus. By avoiding messages that only contain plain text, we aim to share the statistics and details in a catchy manner, which drives social media users to use the enviroCar service. Thereby, one challenge is how to deal with the various restrictions using the social media APIs provided.more >
