This week Simon and Daniel of the 52°North team took a welcome trip from grey Münster to sunny Barcelona to join an impressive list of lecturers at the IC_Cartotechnology study programme (International Course on Management and Applied Techniques in Cartography).
52°North software on OSGeo-Live 6.0
OSGeo-Live 6.0 is released. For this release, all OSGeo-Live java applications have been successfully migrated to OpenJDK 7. Migration to OpenJDK was driven by Oracle’s announcement that including Sun Java in Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu, or OSGeo-Live, is no longer allowed. In addition, the Xubuntu base has been upgraded to 12.04 LTS (Long Term Support).
OSGeo-Live 5.5 released again with 52°North software
OSGeo-Live 5.5 is released.
With this version, you can try running instances of the following 52°North service implementations:
- 52°North SOS version 3.2.0 Just go to Geospatial → Web Services → Start 52°North SOSto start testing. Firefox will open with three tabs:
- a client to test the SOS
- a quickstart page to get things started
- a documentation page about the 52°North SOS implementation
- 52°North WPS version 2.0 RC6 Just go to Geospatial → Web Services → Start 52°North WPS to start testing:
